Teresa Beeman has been a home-based, small business owner for 20 years.  Much of that time she has worked as a freelance paralegal, and is an expert researcher and writer. Her clients have included attorneys and real estate title companies all over the United States.

After leaving her position as in-house staff in a large law firm, and starting out as a freelancer, she found that having a physical address was not as important to her clients as were her abilities.

So after a few months of paying rent in downtown Asheville, NC, she decided she could cut her expenses dramatically by operating out of her home office, yet never sacrificing her high standards for the work product she delivered to her clients.

Equipped with basic office necessities, she has continued working out of her home office, and now has begun to show others how they can do it, too.

“I’m often stopped in courthouses or in meetings, and asked if I can show someone how they can run a business from home. People want to know that working from home isn’t reserved for a few.  I assure them that it can be a reality for them, and I’m happy to show them how,” she says.

“It isn’t necessary to spend a fortune to get a business going.  Most people already have what it takes to run a home-based business. They just need a little guidance, and that’s what I’m here to do.”

“Taking that leap to self-employment is scary for a lot of people, but once they see how easy it is, and how many ways there are to produce a substantial income, they wonder why they didn’t do it sooner.”

Teresa is in demand, both as a speaker and instructor, and stays busy running several operations owned by her primary company, Beeman Communications.

Teresa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Mars Hill College in Mars Hill, North Carolina.

She is a member of the National Association of Women Writers, the Association of Web Entrepreneurs, the Women’s e-Commerce Association International, the National Association of Female Executives, and Toastmasters.  She is listed in the National Association of Professional Women.

Teresa is a native of Asheville, North Carolina, where she resides with her husband, Roger.  She has two sons, and a 6-year-old grandson, who already has his own blog.

“My philosopy is it’s never too soon to learn modern technology, and think about future income.  He’ll learn it while it’s fun, and it will become second nature to him.  I’d rather he stay ahead of the curve.”
